Life's Little Journey: One month

ONE MONTH OLD! WOW. I can't imagine life without you already!

You are growing like crazy - breastfeeding didn't work out for us so you are now on Similac formula and doing well! You are a great laid back baby! You feed really well and don't spit up very often.

We went and got professional photos done on Jan 11 and you were great :) While we were there you smiled and almost giggled! So very cute.

On Jan 12th your belly button fell off (thank god that thing was GROSS!!)

You are so very strong my little one! When you get fussy you wave your arms and push me away! You talk and squeak or more snort often like you are trying to tell me something :) You always lift your head and I sometimes worry you are going to head bob off my chest when I'm burping you!

You have really started to open your eyes more and check out everything around you. You love your suckie and sometimes fuss without it but then the next time you don't care at all if you have it! You love to have your hands on your face, lot's of times when I go to feed you, you will not move your hands!

When feeding you, you make this noise like your content or happy, almost like a sigh or cooing. When you grip my hand its like your trying to show how tough you are gripping as hard as you can ;)

You get the hiccups quite a bit - you don't mind at all!

On Jan 17th I had to put away some of your newborn clothes - they still fit in the waist but you were already too tall for them! Also on the 17th Daddy had to go back to work and had his first night away. It was really hard for him :( You have started smiling quite and bit and it melts everyone's heart! When we talk to you - you are so adorable and start at our face like you are taking in every part of our faces!

When you wake up you "stretch it out" and stretch with your hands behind your head and your head goes back and your eyes are closed with this look of happiness and your purse your lips - CUTEST. THING. EVER!

On Jan 10, 2011 you weighed 7lbs 11.5oz. We were a little concerned about your weight but because breastfeeding never happened for us and we had to put you on formula, the Doctor wasn't that concerned.

On Jan 25th we went into town for your one month appointment. We had lunch with Twila at Bp's and went grocery shopping and you did great. You have started grabbing at my hair and gave me the biggest smile when I was changing you. At your one month appointment you weighed 8lbs 9oz and was just over 22 inches! You wear newborn diapers and clothes and are eating 3-3.5 oz in a bottle about 6 times a day with one feed in the night. You just started turning your head to noise!
